![]() Omega Mart is an interactive art created by American arts company Meow Wolf and located in the Area15 complex in Las Vegas. The company seems to really care about the safety of the workers there so that's why some of these policies are still in place as of right now and will possibly be after for most businesses.Įdit: Post has been updated several times to fix typos.Area15, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America People have been couped up in their homes for a year. I'm sure all the workers ask for is 100% respect the space and their workers. (They're still doing more updates and there will be more additions later in the years.) They probably wouldn't want food everywhere since people still make a mess even without food now. The original creators took about 10 years to make Omega Mart happen and roughly 3-4 years to collaborate with other artists for the final art installation for Omega Mart as we see it now. Please keep in mind the no eating and drinking rule may still apply even after the pandemic in most areas of Omega Mart to respect the 200+ artist collaborative art space. That also means having your mask off so please read guide tip number 4. To answer the example of the no-eating rule: the no-eating rule does not apply to eating within designated areas (again, such as the bar). Yes, Las Vegas is opening up slowly to normalcy but please be sure to follow all the updated guidelines from the workers and staff when visiting. As far as I know of right now, eating is not allowed in Omega Mart (except for their bar area). It really depends on the business and how they'd like to run things (following all laws of course). Just because something seems to be improving and reopening doesn't mean all the rules will dive right back into normalcy right away. Most businesses, if not all businesses are opening on June 1st in Vegas at 100% capacity. ![]() I cannot speak entirely on behalf of Meow Wolf's policies for June 1st. Just follow their updated rules when visiting and you and your family should have a good time. ![]() Some people may be still getting vaccinated or following their two weeks for being fully vaccinated. Theyre reasonable accommodations for their staff and workers. An example of this is: if they wanted to keep cleaning the slides after every hour even after the pandemic ends, they can entirely in their right to do so to keep their space clean to not only reduce the spread but to also make sure their staff is protected. However, businesses still retain the rights within their space to reserve the safety of staff and workers following all laws respectively as of right now. The rules are in place due to the pandemic, yes. They don't break character if they can help it so it's a fun interaction, and they guide you on stuff that the instructions are vague or incorrect about. I don't think the immersion thing includes what you're actually currently wearing (eg if you bought a shirt yesterday and wore it today) - it might just be a policy to prevent shrinkage and lost items.Īlso, lastly - I think they're still working out how to make things more user-friendly. I had the "NOTHING IS SACRED" Omega Mart pin on me my whole visit and wasn't asked to remove it. There is a "companions" restroom which I was told by an employee was for families only (although presumably it also includes some people with disabilities based on the signage)-either way, not for me. Restrooms are not gender-neutral despite Omega Mart's gender-friendly marketing. I had a traveler's wallet underneath my shirt and the security guy made me take it off in front of everybody □ (The bag, not the shirt. Find a way to cram everything possible in your pockets. This isn't on their website and wasn't mentioned when I called and emailed them about this - but you cannot bring ANY bag inside except for a small purse. I honestly think they want you to get drunk.) ![]() (Edit - I asked and the bar only serves drinks, no food. Not fancy but you gotta do what you gotta do, since they don't let you leave. but sure, what the hell, right?) There are water fountains throughout but they are closed right now for COVID - and you have restroom access, so you can always wash your hands and drink the tap water. I was honestly baffled that they wanted me to be climbing and sliding and interacting with fragile exhibits while tipsy or drunk. It's pricey but that's what it's there for, and they have at least one non-alcoholic drink. Like you mentioned later, you ARE allowed to drink at their bar. Addenda from my visit - No spoilers in my answers except for the basic rules/functioning of Omega Mart. ![]()
